3pm: Chenrezig Practice for Loving Kindness and Compassion to All Sentient Beings

4pm - 7pm: Pot Luck Celebration

Losar means "new year" in Tibetan, and is New Year's day according to the Lunar calendar. It is traditional to clean the house right before, as to usher in new energy for the new year.

Practice at this time is also highly recommended. Doing positive things on Losar and immediately after sets the new year up for being a positive experience.

Join us at 3pm for an auspicious practice to benefit all sentient beings. Chenrezig is the yidam of compassion. His mantra Om Mani Padme Hung Hri helps all beings without distinction. The perfect way to start the New Year out right!

Then, join the sangha in a Losar celebration. Bring your favorite vegetarian or vegan dish to share. Email Paul (link to paul@drikungboston.org) and let him know what you are bringing. Free raffle for door prizes. Play the traditional game of Sho. Spend this auspicious day with friends and the U.S. Jowo Rinpoche.

The Four Immeasurable Wishes of Buddhism
Love: May all mother sentient beings, boundless as the sky, have happiness and the causes of happiness.
Compassion: May they be liberated from suffering and the causes of suffering. Bliss: May they never be separated from the happiness which is free from sorrow. Equanimity: May they rest in equanimity, free from attachment and aversion.
